About the competition
This event will require regular commitment. You will form teams to compete and Sujit will take you through the process of building a functional robot with the kit supplied. It will be hard to catch up after the first two sessions. To succeed you will need to attend the full course and find time to work with your team after school or at weekends. There will be a prize for the winning team, and all teams will have the chance to display their work to parents and schools at summer roadshows as well as work towards regional and national competitions.You will need to bring a fully charged, internet capable, laptop computer or tablet to work on.
Children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent. Those over 12 must bring a signed parental consent form or parents can complete a form on arrival. To register and for more information or for a consent form please email: david@communityregen.net (or call 07946 304332)
If you decide to join and stay for the full course you will get:
- A free kit per team to work with.
- Hands-on project instructions from Dr. Sujit Bhattacharya (PhD, ME, BE, SMIEEE, FIETE, MIET).
- Experience working with sensors to measure light, sound, temperature, magnetism, gravity, etc.
- Instruction on interfacing with popular microcontrollers like BBC Micro: bit, Raspberry Pi Pico.
- The opportunity to continue developing your skills and enter other competitions
