outh of Polaris is a genre-defying Alt Folk duo where the earthy soul of folk storytelling collides with the wild, passionate spirit of flamenco, electrified by rock and a touch of theatrical flair. Danii Reales weaves haunting vocals and violin melodies, while Saúl Díaz, born in the sun-soaked south of Spain, ignites the stage with his Electro-Classical Guitar.

In just three years, South of Polaris have carved out a distinct space in the UK folk scene. They’ve been featured on BBC Introducing, Alan Ritson’s Fine Folk, and Burwell Radio’s The Folk Club, and have opened for acclaimed acts like Mad Dog Mcrea and Rioghnach Connolly & Honeyfeet. Their debut EP The Year After (Dec 2024) marked a powerful artistic milestone, earning them a nomination in two consecutive years for a Cambridge NMG Award in the Folk & Americana category.
